The world over technology is being adapted to map players’ data and quantify the performance of athletes. In this issue Commodore Pushpendra Kumar Garg (Retd), CEO TOPS, continues his series on ‘Assessments in High Performance Sports’ where he discusses how achieving High Performance requires a team of experts to test, analyze, derive results, apply interventions and record results. Neelam Babardesai, Head of Sports Portfolio - Tata Trusts, ends her 3-part series - Sports Science implementation: The Athlete Management System where she lays down a template for the introduction and use of Athlete Management Systems.


Rajiv Seth, Project Director, Odisha Naval Tata Hockey High Performance Centre, (ONTHHPC), Bhubaneswar weighs in this month with an insightful article spotlighting the success that the state of Orissa has had in scaling its hockey infrastructure with stat-of-the-art High Performance Centres and identifying sporting talent from the grassroots level. Vijay Krishnamurthy, a Sports Research Scholar (Ph.D.) from the University of Mysore, Executive Coach (ICF-ACC), writes about adapting the conventional Balanced Scorecard (BSC) performance management tool towards non-profit sports organizations that work with athletes at the grassroots levels.
