Through the program we were given exposure to best practices and ideas from around the world on a list of very pertinent topics. I am sure this exposure will go a long way in helping us better understand the sports system, find solutions and innovate going forward so that we may achieve our outcomes in an efficient manner by incorporating high-performance in every aspect of our journey.

I did not have any formal training specifically on high performance except for being a former athlete and pretty much learned whatever was accessible on the job. This training program has been an eye-opening and invaluable experience. The access to the world class experts who shared their inputs on these aspects was extremely beneficial as well. At an organizational level, getting the opportunity to interact with 60 of India’s key stakeholders in Indian Sport, and understanding their perspectives on the need of the hour, and the systems that need to be in place will definitely help us streamline our processes accordingly.

Credit to the ELMS Foundation and the Abhinav Bindra Foundation for being the first off the blocks and for putting together a High Performance Leadership Program. It is a good guess that they must have burnt midnight oil in scheduling the online sessions during the times of the pandemic. The care with which the range of subjects for the 16 sessions has been chosen is quite evident. It has ensured that a fine balance has been maintained in introducing and articulating the diverse elements that go to make High-Performance Sport.

The quality of faculty contributing to the High Performance Leadership Program is worthy of high praise. The interactivity that some of the faculty brought to the sessions has been enjoyable while the breakaway sessions allowed some of those who preferred to soak in the learnings but did not express themselves in the larger group to show their deep understanding of their respective domains and an eagerness to imbibe more.
